Hope, age 20 – Syracuse
I am a junior at Syracuse University where I am majoring in Social Work. I was first placed in foster care at the age of 12 and recently adopted by my foster parents. It was difficult to understand the family dynamics because dysfunctional families were all I knew, but I now feel comfortable, they are now my own. I have never felt so accepted in my life and I am thankful to the Department of Social Services for providing this kind of permanency. I am passionate about advocating for youth currently in care. |
