Youth we serve often face educational obstacles due to multiple placements, attending multiple schools, and inconsistent messages from adult caregivers. As a result, youth may be ill prepared for making a successful transition from high school to college. Foster parents and staff who are unfamiliar with the vocabulary and processes may also be an obstacle for youth. This training will provide a basis for adult caregivers and staff to acquire the skills and knowledge needed to assist youth through the educational process and provide strategies for the youth’s success in college preparation.
