This year’s theme is New York Youth Forward: Youth Voices for Change-It’s Up to Us. This event will offer youth and adult partners opportunities to increase skills, knowledge, and abilities to engage in creating positive change in their communities.
We are seeking submissions from youth of a drawing, sketch, painting, or poem addressing foster care and/or youth issues and challenges. Selected works will be featured during the event. Please send your submission by October 4 to PDP-YST@albany.edu.

Sixto Cancel is the CEO of "Think of Us" and a former foster youth who is using innovation to form more connections for youth so that they can succeed in their transition out of foster care.
Selena Bermejo Romero is a sociotherapist at JCAA, a former youth advisory board member and a former foster youth. She is a foster care advocate and ally in Westchester County and continues to ensure that youth voice is being incorporated when making decisions that impact youth in care.
Cody Rivera is an innovation fellow and cohort guide at Alia, a FosterClub Inc. board member, an entrepreneur and a former foster youth. He believes that people need innovations and policies that create intergenerational success and financial independence.
Kristen Conklin is an Executive Director at the NYS Permanent Judicial Commission on Justice for Children, and is ready to hear about your experiences and concerns.
